Objective and Background: This study explores the educational potential of video games in fostering citizenship skills and social responsibility. As video games increasingly function as cultural and learning media, examining how they represent and teach ethical and social values through interactive narratives is essential. Method: Using a qualitative thematic content analysis, 24 narrative-driven games (2007–2022) featuring moral choices and social consequences were selected through purposive sampling. Data were analyzed in three stages, open, axial, and selective coding, with data triangulation and iterative researcher review ensuring analytical rigor. Findings: The analysis revealed that interactive narrative games create meaningful learning contexts where players engage with moral dilemmas, social challenges, and the outcomes of their actions. These experiences encourage empathy, ethical reflection, and a sense of accountability. Games employing branching narratives and moral consequence systems allow players to experience the impact of their decisions on others, thereby reinforcing civic awareness and social engagement. Moreover, the cooperative and problem-solving aspects of certain titles promote collaboration and dialogue, simulating real-world citizenship practices. Conclusion: Video games, when designed or applied purposefully, can transcend entertainment to serve as effective pedagogical tools. Their interactive structures provide experiential learning environments that internalize civic and ethical principles.
