Background and Objectives: The aim of the present research is to qualitative study of the causes and contexts in lack of enthusiasm to knowledge sharing. Methodology: In the present study has been used qualitative method with grounded theory approach and have been conducted in- depth interviews with 25 students of Allameh Amini Campus in Tabriz by purposeful sampling method. Data analysis is based on open, Axial and selective coding. Findings: The findings indicated that six category in point of students such as the power of knowledge, high individualism, lack of structural support of the university, the impact of students' educational backgrounds, distrust, undesirable technological infrastructure conditions and lack of knowledge orientation among the students are presented as a causal factors of lack of tendency to knowledge sharing. Students saw the formation of scientific communities based on participative groups and the development of technology-based infrastructure as the solution of problem. The core category in this study is the weakness of the development of the academic field. Result: The results showed that the realization and implementation of knowledge sharing in the university leads to the development of the university and the expansion of the university's social capital.
